Dear Diay,
Bob Hope’s guest tonight was Lola Lane. A representative from Movie-Radio Guide presented Bob with a plaque for winning the Star of Stars poll. Bob’s song tonight was “Essential To Me” and he sang it without the whole gang chiming in, thank heavens. It surely felt peculiar hearing Bob sing his theme song all the way through and make all necessary announcements without being cut off the air in the middle of a word.
