Dear Diary,

I read today that the recent lifting of the $25,000 salary limit revealed that not many stars had been affected by it anyway. It stated that Bob, who usually nets around a half a million annually, just kept on working in pictures and radio, as if nothing had been said about money.

Dear Diary,

I got another pictorial review of “They Got Me Covered” today. In the same magazine there was an article about Hollywood stars and the $25,000 salary ceiling. There was a picture of Bob, and one of Bing with the caption “Stars Like These Should Be Worried.” But the article explained that they aren’t. I’ll bet!

There was another article in the same magazine. (It was loaded.) “Sam Goldwyn thought he’d heard everything in the way of complaints from actors until he received a wire from Bob Hope. Following a special preview of ‘They Got Me Covered,’ Bob wired the producer, who was in the East: ‘Looks great. But the story is so good I’m afraid it will steal the picture from me’.” I’ll admit that’s a new twist.
